Literary greetings from Goethe’s Faust. It is the second time I painted this group.

I sold the first one during an exhibition where I demonstrated how to paint flat figures. I promised everyone who looked at it I would sell it cheaper if they can tell me who the three guys are. A very frustrating experience. It took nearly two days before a Goethe admirer came, and insisted on the discount. Perforce I had to by a new figure and started to paint again. I don’t like redoing, because it starts to bore me very soon. That’s the reason why it took me four years to finish the second one.
