Village Church

On a sunny weekend I sketched a village church in Lower Austria from two different points of view and in different styles. It is a fortified church, which means the roof with the clock was built later than the original tower.

Here I was sitting on the main street of the village (actually in the grass verge beside the main street.)

For this sketch I had to put my stool in a reaped field. This is one of my favourite sketches. Sitting there completely alone, no noises and the meditative repeating of the lines in the fence was very relaxing and I think one can see this in the sketch.
