November the 11th at 11:11 am. is the beginning of carnival in Austria, where it is called "Fasching". From November until midst of January, it is thankfully pushed aside by Christmas. I am definitely not interested in the carnival season. First, I had to deal with masks, costumes and many fools during the university and especially at the theatre. Second, in Vienna Fasching is not the time of carnival parades but of the ball season and I hate dancing. Normally Fasching leaves me untouched but this year I discovered that it produces some good themes to sketch.
